Every photograph on this site is a freely licensed picture from Wikimedia Commons. We do not use stock libraries with restrictive terms, and we do not photograph people to show you what a body is supposed to look like. The images here are of garments, fabric, mannequins, tools and workrooms, because that is what our guides are actually about.

Where a licence asks for attribution, this page is where we give it. Each photo below is listed with the guide it appears on, its original title and author, its licence, and a link to its Commons file page, which carries the full licence text. We resize and re-encode each file for the web and do not otherwise alter it.

What the licences mean

CC0 places a work in the public domain: the photographer has given up all rights, and no attribution is legally required. We credit it anyway, because the person who took the photo should be named.

CC BY and CC BY-SA allow reuse, including commercially, provided the photographer and the licence are credited. The share-alike variants add one condition: if you build on the image, your version carries the same licence. We do not modify the photographs beyond resizing and format conversion, so the files you see here remain under the licence named beside them.
